Ans. Mammals:

Animals that give birth to young ones are called mammals.

Animals which lay eggs and and hatch their young ones are called egg laying animals.

Eg- fish, frog, birds.


  1. What are the stages of a butterfly life cycle?

Ans. A butterfly has four stages in its lifecycle-

i) Eggs- Female butterflies lay eggs on leaves.

ii) Caterpillar- From eggs tiny warm like creature known as caterpillar comes out. It feeds on leaves and grows in size.

iii) Pupa- Caterpillar turns itself into pupa by building a hard case around it to protect itself.

iv) Butterfly- A few days later the case around the pupa splits open and an adult butterfly comes out.


  1. What are the stages of a frog's life cycle?

Ans. A frog has four stage in his lifecycle.
i) Egg: Frogs lay their eggs in water. A floating clumps of eggs is called frog spawn.
ii) Tadpole: When the eggs hatch, tadpole emerge. They are the larvae of the frog.
iii) Young frog- The juvenile frog grows from legs and its tail gradually becomes shorter until it no longer there.
iv) Adult frog- As the frog develops into an adult, it will began to eat insects rather than vegetation. It can take up to four year before the frog becomes fully mature.
