1. Water cycle- The circulation of water from the sea to air and back again in the form of rain, snow, or sleet.
2. Water vapor- Water in its gaseous form.

Ans. Water filled with rain in ponds, rivers, and lakes is called surface water. 

2. What is groundwater?
Ans. The rainwater that goes into the ground is called underground.

3. Why should we cover drinking water?
Ans. We should cover the drinking water to keep it clean.

4. What is hydroelectricity?
Ans. The electricity produced by water is known as hydroelectricity.

5. Write three uses of water. 
Ans. Three uses of water are- drinking, cooking, and washing.

6. Sea water is not fit for drinking. Why?

Ans. Sea water contains salt in it therefore, it is not fit for drinking.

Ans. We can keep the water clean by- 

I) Storing it in a covered container.

2. How do we get drinking water in villages and cities?

Ans. In cities, water reaches our homes through pipes and taps. In villages, people get underground water through wells and pumps. 

3. How can water be made fit for drinking at home?

Ans. We can make water fit for drinking at home by-

I) Boiling it.

1. Describe the water cycle.
Ans. i) When the water from water bodies gets heated by the Sun it rises up in the form of water vapor.

ii) These vapors cool down and form small droplets of water. 

iii) These droplets join together to form clouds, which then fall down in the form of rain. 

 iv) This never-ending cycle of water is called the water cycle.
